We’re excited to welcome Debbie Breton to Hivero as our new Academy Education Specialist! Debbie is an ACDIS Approved Educator and seasoned Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) leader with more than 13 years of clinical nursing experience spanning coronary critical care, home health, hospice, and hospital-based case management. That strong clinical foundation continues to guide her CDI work, anchored in sound clinical reasoning and documentation that truly reflects patient complexity.
Since transitioning into CDI in 2017, Debbie has advanced into leadership roles across multi-hospital and large, high-volume organizations. Her work has focused on strengthening documentation consistency, fostering collaborative provider engagement, and developing structured growth pathways that help CDI professionals build confidence and deepen expertise. Most recently, she served as a CDI Educator within a multi-state health system, where she designed onboarding and advanced education programs and implemented a formal CDI mentorship framework to support sustainable team growth.
Debbie brings a learner-centered approach that emphasizes clarity, critical thinking, and practical application. She is deeply passionate about creating environments where CDI professionals feel supported, capable, and connected. She holds a BSN, maintains her CCDS credential, and currently serves on the Furthering Education Committee. She also recently served on the ACDIS Leadership Council.
